A wide range of volunteer opportunities are available on and off the construction site for individuals, corporate groups, student groups, youth groups, and faith groups.
Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity (LAHFH) utilizes volunteers (both individuals and groups) to construct homes, work in the ReStore, help plan events, serve on committees/Board of Directors, and more. Volunteers are vital to our mission, helping us keep prices low and providing consistent operations across our entire organization. Volunteering allows you to have fun and make a difference while giving you the flexibility to choose your own schedule. You can work as little as a couple hours/month or as much as several times/week. Whether you are part of a church group, a school club, a corporate organization, or just an individual looking to gain volunteer experience, we’re always looking for volunteers.
Habitat’s Volunteer Opportunities:
You could be involved in all phases of new home construction or rehab with the exception of the work we subcontract like roofing, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. Learn a new skill while you make a difference. No experience necessary!
Habitat’s ReStore sells donated items like building materials, furniture, appliances, etc., to the public. We need friendly volunteers to help our customers. Flexible scheduling and 2-hour shifts available. No experience necessary!
A Team Build is either a one-day construction experience for you and your group of up to 8 per half-day shift, working together to build a new Habitat house. OR a group can volunteer together at the Habitat ReStore in North Moorhead. A wide range of volunteer opportunities are available on and off the construction site for corporate groups, student groups, youth groups, and faith groups.
Individual Volunteers
New volunteers who intend to volunteer more than one time, should complete the application form. This application allows our team to learn more about your interests, experiences, and availability. Please reach out to LAHFH Volunteer Coordinator, Brianna, if you don’t hear from us within 2 weeks about your application. Thank you for your patience!
Volunteer Groups: The volunteer application form is not required for volunteers who are coming as a group. If you are interested in learning more about reserving a team building day for a group, scroll down and click on “Team Build”.
