The Minnesota legislature passed a bill to incentivize taxpayers to support affordable housing projects.
Eligible Minnesota taxpayers – both individuals and businesses – can contribute to affordable housing projects in the State Housing Tax Credit (SHTC) Program and Contribution Fund and qualify to receive a state tax credit of 85% of the contribution!
The Minnesota State Housing Tax Credit Program opens at 8:00 am on February 17, 2026. Lake Agassiz Habitat has four projects available for contributions.
TIP: Be ready to act quickly as funds are first-come, first-serve. In 2025, funds were claimed within six weeks of the program opening.

Complete the online application starting on February 17. Funds will run out quickly, so act fast!
